About Monte J. Robbins
Monte J. Robbins is a criminal defense attorney with over 20 years of courtroom experience across Colorado. His practice focuses on DUI, drug offenses, and complex traffic-related criminal cases. Monte personally handles every case — from first call to final outcome — bringing hands-on strategy and a sharp focus on minimizing long-term consequences and protecting his clients’ freedom.
He routinely defends the toughest cases other attorneys avoid: habitual traffic offender designations, license revocations, and high-stakes DMV hearings. He also represents clients charged with drug-related DUIs, unlawful possession, child-in-car DUIs, and ignition interlock violations — always working to minimize damage and safeguard the future.
Monte is especially experienced with the Denver Traffic Investigations Unit — a specialized team of detectives who handle hit-and-run allegations, fatal crash investigations, and license-based crimes. He has successfully defended many clients under investigation by this unit and knows how to respond when that first letter arrives or a detective knocks.
Monte’s criminal justice background runs deep. He grew up in Wyoming, earned his B.A. in Criminal Justice from Chadron State College in Nebraska, and obtained his J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law. While in law school, he externed at the Federal Public Defender’s Office in Cheyenne, working on complex interstate drug distribution cases. During his undergraduate years, he interned with both the Casper Police Department and the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office in Wyoming.
Whether it’s a DUI with injury, a felony drug charge, or a license-based offense, Monte brings courtroom-tested strategy and a deep understanding of Colorado’s legal system — with smart, aggressive advocacy for individuals facing the power of the state.
